Become a Schools Committee Volunteer!
Interview DC-area applicants to Harvard College or volunteer at local college fairs and college preparation programs.
The Schools Committee is the Harvard Club's largest volunteering activity. Each year, over 300 graduates of the Harvard College interview candidates from the greater Washington area -- which spans from the far reaches of Loudoun County in Virginia down to Solomon's Island in southern Maryland. In 2010-11, we were able to offer every applicant to Harvard from our area an interview. In total, the Schools Committee interviewed over 1,000 applicants from this area. In addition, Schools Committee members volunteer at college fairs throughout the area, and give presentations on Harvard, as well as the college preparation and application processes more generally, at high schools across our area.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email Elizabeth Lewis '01 at elewis@post.harvard.edu or Tom Karr '84 at tomkarr@rcn.com.
